1. How to Create a Question Using a Text File

At First
  • Questions can be created with text files.
  • Once you understand it, you can create quizzes with no difficulty.

Download Template Text (48 downloads) and create a quiz. The number of quizzes and choices are modifiable.
(Note that if the number of quizzes increases, it will take a long time to use the conversion tool or uploader.)

As the format, the next line of the “Question Sentence” (the one at the top described as an option) is recognized as the “Correct Answer”, and the rest is recognized as the “Wrong Answer”. If no option value is set, the order of choices is displayed randomly. Also, add a line break before the “Question Sentence” for the second and subsequent quizzes.

* For reference, we have prepared text_file_before_conversion.txt (28 downloads) of the “Sample Quiz for Prefectural Capital Location”. To create more detailed text quizzes, please have a look at here.

* Rich text files are created by default when using Text Edit installed on Mac as standard, but QuizGenerator does not support rich text files.
In addition, double quotations may be converted automatically. As a result, the error may occur.
Therefore, before using the standard installed text edit, open the text edit preferences, click “Standard Text” in the format to check it, and click the Smart Quotes at Option to uncheck it.
Now, any new text you create after this will be a standard text file.
If you want to change an existing rich text file to standard text, open the file and select “Edit” > “Auto Replace” > “Samrt Quote” from the menu, and it will be converted to standard text.
