LearningBOX Implementation Support Team.
We recently conducted a "Corporate e-Learning System Satisfaction Survey" of training managers at companies that have implemented e-learning systems.
In recent years, an increasing number of companies have been engaged in training using e-learning, and many companies and personnel are considering the introduction of e-learning for new training programs.
We are pleased to report the results of this satisfaction survey of 1,011 training managers.

What e-learning system are you using? Purpose of introduction is identified!

First, I would like to ask you about which e-learning system you are using.

When asked, "What is the name of the e-learning system you actually use?" the most common answer was "[Multiverse] NetLearning Corporation (20.3%)," followed by "[learningBOX] Tatsuno Information System Corporation (15.2%)," and "[KnowledgeDeliver] Digital Knowledge Corporation (14.0%). (20.3%)", followed by "[learningBOX] Tatsuno Information System Corporation (15.2%)" and "[KnowledgeDeliver] Digital Knowledge Corporation (14.0%)".

Next, when asked "What was the purpose of introducing an e-learning system (multiple answers allowed)," the most common response was "Because it is suitable for basic education of employees (46.8%)," followed by "Because the same training can be provided remotely in remote locations (43.6%)," and "Because it can train many employees at the same time (40.3%). (43.6%)" and "Because I can train many employees at the same time (40.3%)" followed.

We found that nearly half of the companies use e-learning systems for basic and fundamental education.
In addition, e-learning allows many employees to take courses remotely at the same time, reducing the cost of venues and travel required for group training, and eliminating the need to prepare for group training, leading to greater operational efficiency on the part of the management team.

The e-learning system is located in the Corona Disaster, and is useful because it can be used without contact between the instructor and the trainees. The system can be used over and over again, allowing participants to view the content they do not understand repeatedly.

How did you learn about the e-learning system and what was the deciding factor?

Many felt that the e-learning system was effective in providing basic education to employees and that it could provide the same quality of education to many employees at the same time, regardless of location.
So how did you hear about the e-learning system we are currently using?

E-Learning Learning Systems - Satisfaction Survey
When asked, "How did you learn about your current e-learning system?", the most common answer was "Introduction from another company (30.9%)", followed by "Website or advertisement (20.1%)" and "Sales call (13.2%)", indicating that more than 30% of respondents started using the system because of an introduction. We found that more than 30% of the respondents started using the service because of a referral.

It can be inferred that they are making decisions based on information from trusted parties.
So what exactly made you choose that service?

When asked "What was the deciding factor in selecting your current e-learning system (multiple answers allowed)?", the most common answer was "System functionality and convenience (44.8%)", followed by "Quality of teaching materials (30.2%)" and "Ability to customize teaching materials (22.6%)".

The main functions of an e-learning system are learner, management, and instructional functions, which eliminate the need to manually manage learners and teaching materials and enable centralized management of large amounts of information.

In recent years, the variety of teaching materials has expanded and the quality has improved.
Among these, those that use video or images are expected to improve the effectiveness of learning because they can express learning content in an easy-to-understand manner.

In addition to videos, a variety of other content is available, such as drill-type materials and LIVE classes with real-time lectures, which seem to be the deciding factor in selecting a system.

Satisfaction Ranking of e-Learning Systems

The survey so far has revealed that many companies have introduced e-learning for the purpose of conducting basic and fundamental employee training, providing the same training remotely, and training a large number of employees at the same time.

Reasons for choosing the current service from among a number of services included system functionality and convenience, quality of teaching materials, and the ability to customize the system, indicating that a system that meets substantial and serious needs is required.
So which e-learning systems are the most satisfactory?

Therefore, when asked about the level of satisfaction with the e-learning systems they use, the top 5 ranking systems with the highest percentage of "very satisfied" respondents were as follows.

■Top 5 e-Learning System Satisfaction Ranking
No. 1: [learningBOX] Tatsuno Information System Corporation (45.5%)
Second: [Moodle] Open source (29.0%)
No. 3: [KnowledgeDeliver] Digital Knowledge Corporation (23.4%)
No. 4: [AirCourse] KIYO Learning Corporation (23.1%)
No. 5: [UMU] UMU Technology Japan Corporation (21.7%)

So what are the conditions and environments in which these companies use the system?

When asked, "Please tell us how much you utilize the [usage, frequency, number of people] system," we received the following responses and others.

A wide variety of uses exist, including frequency and number of people.
Three times a day on a scale of 50 people (30s / male / Nagano)
Once every seven days on a scale of 20 people (40s / male / Shiga Prefecture)
13,000 people attend the course once a year (50s / male / Kyoto, Japan)
. 2,000 people a day (50s / male / Kanagawa Prefecture)
I use it once a month on a scale of 5,000 people (50s / male / Tokyo).
I use it once every 10 days on a scale of 10 people (50s / Female / Osaka)

Some companies use the system once a year, while others use it three times a day, showing that it is used in a wide variety of ways.

Improvements sought in e-learning system

The survey so far has revealed that although the number of people and frequency of use varies considerably from company to company, many companies select e-learning systems based on functionality, convenience, and quality of teaching materials, and based on information from people they trust.
In addition, nearly 90% of the respondents were satisfied with the system they use.

In such a situation, is there anything you feel you would like to see improved?

When asked, "What improvements, if any, would you like to see in your current e-learning system (multiple responses allowed)?" the most common response was "lower cost (30.9%)," followed by "system functionality and convenience (30.8%)" and "quality of teaching materials (26.7%).

So what are they dissatisfied with?
I asked, "Can you tell us specifically if there are any aspects of the e-learning system that you are dissatisfied with?"

■Improve usability of the system and content of educational materials
・Account management is complicated and it takes a lot of time and effort to register (system is difficult to use) (20s / Female / Tokyo)
Some parts of the teaching materials are difficult to understand (40s / Male / Osaka)
Cost is high (40s / male / Osaka)
Hard to see the screen (50s / male / Saitama)
Time constraints associated with the operation of overseas-based lecturers (50s / male / Chiba Prefecture)
I want the range of fields to be expanded (50s / male / Shizuoka Prefecture)

There were both requests for hardware improvements, such as difficulty in using the system and difficulty in viewing the screen, and software-related requests for easier-to-understand teaching materials and content in a wider range of fields. In addition, there was a wide range of requests for time constraints and high costs.

So, with such dissatisfaction, are you considering discontinuing use of your current system or switching to another company's system?

When asked, "Do you want to continue using your current e-learning system?" The results were "Yes (89.5%)" and "No (10.5%)," indicating that nearly 90% of respondents would like to continue using their current e-learning system.

Although there are many e-learning systems in the world, it is necessary to consider various selection points such as the number of people to be covered, the support system, whether the system is designed to keep students motivated, whether the content of the material matches the company's employee training, and cost-effectiveness.

Since the systems were carefully selected after identifying the advantages of the candidate systems, they were used with conviction, and nearly 90% of the companies want to continue using them.
